by VC Edwards The one thing that Blacks have contributed to America (above and beyond any talent, ability, innovation, patriotism or labor) is a deep and profound faith in God that has been vital for America’s protection to remain a democracy and to prosper. Black Christians live by godly principles, while many White Americans despise Blacks. The soul of America has long been tattered with racism and bigotry, but the faith of Black Christians has protected democracy for all Americans to enjoy freedom, even when Blacks are denied equality. Tom Steyer, a 2020 democratic presidential candidate, calls Blacks, “the moral voice” of the country. The faith of Black Christians has given America favor with God, keeping America a democracy, thus far. All Blacks are Not the Same Too often Black celebrities portray negative and degrading images that contradict the true contribution of Blacks to the nation. In a culture of blasphemous rappers, butt-twerking performers and promiscuous actors, Black Christians seem invisible, until the country is in crisis—then the nation looks to the steel strength of Black people of faith to seek mercy and favor from God. It is questionable if the prayers of White Christians make a major impact to protect the country, since many Whites hide behind supremacy, whether proudly or unknowingly—yet, White supremacy is an offense against God, who stands alone, Supreme, therefore leaving “supremacists,” and the country influenced by their decisions, exposed to all sorts of dangers. However, the power of the Black faith cannot be ignored because those who possess it, have held onto the spirit of love, commanded by God, even through relentless, horrific conditions of systemic racism embedded in institutions in American society. The Country’s Moral Conscious is in The Hands of the Least Valued When Whites ignore God’s command to love all, workplaces, schools and colleges become racist booby traps that Blacks are forced to deal with on a daily basis. When White “Christians,” engage in prejudiced practices and teach their children their hypocritical linage of hate, disguised as Christianity, they forfeit God’s protection, not only for their families, but for their communities, and for the nation. When haters plot to kill the livelihood and lives of Black and Brown Americans, haters cannot avoid personal disappointments and major losses, of their own. Racists never win; their hatred constantly causes them to lose whatever they gain. Racists have not learned the lesson of life to prosper (to love all), instead they believe they are entitled to anything that Blacks and Browns achieve or are awarded. Not by God’s rules! Racists do not comprehend that the hate they aim at others, negatively affects their own livelihood, jeopardizing their prosperity—bringing attacks on their health, cutting off divine protection for their families, blocking their financial progress and future opportunities. Due to racism being systemic in America, with such little progress by many Whites to eradicate it from their own families, it is questionable that Whites hold the country down, from a moral consciousness. All Power is in Love Foreign gods and man-conceived ideologies do not protect our freedoms because they have no power, so their followers are exposed to dangers. Likewise, idol or celebrity worship has not protected our country, but instead, exposes us to terrorist activity, because celebrities blasphemously disregard God, which cancels God’s protection. Whites, who keep racism alive, do not protect America, but threaten our country’s freedom every day in the blatant defiance of God’s fundamental command to love (respect) all humans. White supremacy clearly dismisses God as Supreme, therefore White supremacy restricts God’s protection and leaves the country constantly subject to dangerous conditions, whether adverse weather, economic instability or terrorists’ threats against our democracy. God Has Nothing to Do with Hate White evangelicals, who hide behind the title of “Christian” with a torch of racism, make our country a target for international and domestic terrorism, putting our democracy in harm’s way, because God does not answer the prayers of hypocrites, who look for protection from hatred directed at them, while plotting baseless and evil tactics against others. Whites will continue to face hate from terrorists and mass shooters in their communities, until they seize their irrational hatred towards people of color. A person, who calls himself a Christian, but refuses to love all people, as God commands, is not associated with Christ, and therefore blocks his own prosperity and leaves himself open to disappointment and poverty. Hateful People have No Credibility with God Even well-meaning White Christians have not led the nation by faith because they conveniently look the other way, instead of stand up for humanity. White officials and leaders, and even White ministers rely on the “comfort” of White supremacy. Racism couldn’t exist today if the majority of Whites, particularly the White church, refused to tolerate hate, in all forms. White Christians do not believe they have to love everyone because they live under a national system that allows them to interchange hate for love, towards select people. White Christians have put their faith in their “supremacy,” façade, suggesting they are above God’s law to love all, and insist on believing they stand beside God, even though God, who is love, stands alone, Supreme. White “Christians” have used their self-proclaimed “supremacy,” rooted in hate, to terrorize fellow citizens, which does not protect our democracy. During Crisis, Whites Look to Blacks for Comfort and Hope Ironically, when White Americans face tragedy, they welcome solace from their Black Christian co-workers and neighbors—the Blacks who are solid in faith and prayerful when these same people bully and terrorize them. Whites Don’t Understand Black Christians’ Relationship with God Whites, even many evangelicals continue to attack Blacks who are elated about life because Whites don’t understand the Spirit of God; they envy anyone who displays God’s spirit—the spirit of love over hate, freedom despite inequality, and joy even though denied. Despite the hatred aimed at them, Black Christians have no shortage of hope, joy, laughter and humor rooted in their faith in God. When Black Christians forgive people who harm them, racists don’t understand the spiritual strength Black Christians have in God; White supremacy-thinking is inferior to thinking that stays connected to God. Relentless racists don’t understand they cannot break a spirit that is in Christ because they are fighting against Christ in the believer. Whites, like all people, can only embrace Christ by taking on the challenge from God, to love all people. Faith is Strengthened in Adversity The faith that Black Christians have in Christ is peculiar because Blacks have been suppressed for generations. Black Christians have given God a try, in the mist of their struggles, and they know from personal experience that God is real, love, truth, joy and hope—while the forces that perpetuate racism, live with a constant emptiness that their money cannot fill. The only power that obliterates racist thinking is the love (respect) insisted by Jesus Christ. Waiting for Racism to End While Black Christians are always hopeful that one day racism won’t be an issue—that all Whites will realize that their prosperity and the continued freedom of the nation is conditional upon the equality of all Americans, the supreme instruction from God. Faith Is Not for Sale Faith is not something that the rich can buy or the desperate can steal. Trying to steal a person’s faith by suppressing them, backfires and makes a victim’s faith, in God, stronger. Faith is owned, outright, by the one who develops a relationship with God. In many instances, faith stems from deep roots of wisdom, integrity and fearlessness encouraged from generation to generation—but a personal relationship is possible with God from anyone, of any background and any experience. No amount of money or influence can buy faith from a relationship with the true God. If you can buy a god, it’s not the real God. Faith is Like a Trusted Friend The trust in God that Black Christians have is like a longtime friend—it’s personal. God is a part of every aspect of their life—in good and bad times, God is their confidant. When Black Christians can find no one, who understands what they have gone through, their Creator understands. They have developed a genuine relationship with God, because when they tell Him their problems, He hears them and He communicates with them. If Whites, who believe they are “supreme,” knew How To Hear God To Prosper, Whites would know Blacks are no threat to the prosperity of Whites, rather the greedy rich, who put profit over humanity, are a threat all of society. Holding onto Faith Even though, Black Christians have made the profound contribution of their faith to their country, it is not celebrated because Whites maintain a narrative that Blacks contribute little to the nation. So, it is essential for Black Christians to acknowledge that their contribution of faith is not in vain, and is much needed today for others to experience the rewards of Christ, personally, and collectively, as a nation—the rewards of love, prosperity, protection, joy and peace. For more information, read “How to Hear God to Prosper.” The country cannot continue to be weighed down by hatred. It is crucial for White supremacists to surrender to God, who is love.
